I always had an aversion to plastic (both bags and people haha). I never saw the use of straws in fastfood joints nor those small bags that hold medicine. I tease my mom that it's my way for compensating for her love for plastics, especially ziplocks.
Ondoy seemed to have reminded us that all the plasic that we thought we threw away are actually just lying around. Last week, I finally remembered to stuff my ecobag inside my purse. I'm still trying to figure out how to eliminate our grocery bags, since we actually use them to line our trashcans. Any ideas?
wala ako ma suggest... use eco-friendly plastic na lang? haha.
ReplyDeletei use a cloth bag din for my groceries here.. at least when i remember to bring it. exag sila mag bag dito, i was so appalled. two plastics at a time noh!! EXAG. so i got a cloth tote at truevalue for 50cents. people use it alot here... sana sa pinas na rin. i don't know if i can get my mom to use it though since she would have to bring them to the grocery all the time.
hmmmm, well, i sometimes over shop in the grocery bec i NEED the plastic bags. I think we should find a way to educate the masses about proper garbage disposal, recycling and contraceptives (the more ppl there are the more trash they make). My aunt personally saw a grp of squatters push back into the river the trash Ondoy collected for them. Its because they dont understand that its their trash that caused the sewage to become like this. and of course illegal logging. At the same time we should also kill all the stray cats and dogs that mess up the garbage we put out on the streets.
ReplyDeleteindi kasya sa recyclable bag ang groceries ko. i'd have to bring a recyclable bag for my recyclable bags hahaha. -s
ReplyDelete1. Is there such a thing as an eco-friendly plastic bag? I think i read about it somewhere but i doubt if they have reached our beautiful Philippine shores.
ReplyDelete2. We should start charging 50cents per plastic bag to discourage people from using them. Ang sakit sakit to shell it out, even (as shoti had to remind me) it's just 3 pesos! haha
3. DO YOU KNOW THAT ALL THE NON BIODEGRADABLE TRASH NORTH AMERICA THROWS IN THEIR WATER ENDS UP IN THE PHILIPPINES!!! (due to the ocean currents) promise, napanood ko yan sa cnn.
