Table Top: Kikufiju

Kikufuji is located in Tokyo town in makati. Ate there twice recently and thought it would be my 1st blog entry about a restaurant since i love Japanese food. We got the sashimi platters for the 1st night we went there.it had 9 diff kinds of sashimi. In it were 3pcs of each of these octopus, tuna, salmon, hamachi, squid, 2 other kinds of fish and a scoopful of uni. No picture of the platter bec i was too busy eating...

hamachi, kanpachi and scallops sashimi. the scallops were sliced too thinly.

amaebi sushi with fish roe

uni sushi (my fave!) the uni sashimi is better bec the pcs were longer and crunchier.

hamachi, kanpachi and gooey duck sashimi

for the yakitori i was only able to take a picture of this asparagus wrapped in bacon and beef tongue (on the right). But we also ordered the chicken liver, golden mushrooms wrapped in bacon, beef and chicken wings. All were yummy, especially the chicken liver if you eat it while its still hot. The beef tongue was unexpectedly good so we reordered a few more sticks of that.

I wasn't able to try the agedashi tofu but mom and hubby said it was ok, nothing special.. Use a spoon bec it broke easily.

Dont' try the tempura, the batter was thick and it wasnt crunchy even if it got to the table hot.

All in all i give the place 9 out of 10 stars.
3 *s for the price of the sashimi, its cheaper than most places
3 *s bec everything was very fresh.
*the yakitori was tasty and not dry at all
*the service was okay
*ample choices in the menu (everything is in Japanese, thats why they get only 9 stars bec its hard to order.)
